From first take to finished file

A clear workflow.
Room for your own style.

VIDO Studio is a desktop recorder and editor. Capture a display or import an existing clip, shape the story in one workspace, then export the result.

Six practical steps

Make a recording people can follow.

  1. 01 / Install

    Choose the right published build.

Open Downloads and use a verified artifact for your operating system. Check the listed architecture, release information, and installation notes before opening it. If a compatible download or minimum requirement has not been confirmed, ask support rather than guessing.

Linux capture requires X11. Wayland capture is not supported. A macOS minimum is not claimed here without verification against the published artifact.

  2. 02 / Permissions and inputs

Let the app see only what you intend to share.

Grant screen-recording access when your system requests it. Grant microphone and camera access only if you will use those inputs. Select the display, microphone, and optional webcam in the app, then check the preview and make a short test take.

Free records the primary display. Trial and Pro can select another display; this is not simultaneous multi-monitor recording. System audio depends on supported Windows or macOS configurations and permissions, and is not exposed on Linux.

  3. 03 / Record or import

Capture the explanation, not a perfect performance.

Start the countdown and record your chosen display. Pause and resume when needed, then stop to bring the take into the editor. Restart discards the current take. You can also import a supported existing recording and begin editing without recording again.

Interaction-driven effects depend on metadata collected during capture. Imported clips do not gain mouse-click or typing history.

  4. 04 / Focus

    Review where attention should go.

Create manual zoom regions or review Smart Auto Zoom suggestions based on captured interaction data. Adjust each region's focus, timing, and motion. Premium cursor effects can help make a demonstration clearer when available on your plan.

Automatic suggestions are editable starting points, not a video-understanding model. Review private text and sensitive content throughout the final exported file before sharing it.

  5. 05 / Edit and frame

Keep what helps. Remove what distracts.

Trim and split clips, add text, images, music, and captions, and adjust webcam presentation. Trial and Pro add Auto Cutter for local pause analysis, Studio Sound, premium cursor effects, and broader background choices. Review proposed silence cuts before applying them; they do not remove filler words.

Choose 16:9, 9:16, 1:1, 4:3, or 3:4, then use Fit, Fill & Follow, or Stretch. Save your project and keep its local source media available.

Google Speech caption generation needs a network connection and configured credentials. Manual caption editing and SRT work are separate. Singlish-to-Sinhala typing is transliteration, not translation.

  6. 06 / Export

Choose the file that fits the destination.

Export MP4 up to 4K at 60 FPS, or a silent GIF up to 1440p at 30 FPS. You can queue multiple aspect ratios to create separate files. Review the final output, including sound, captions, framing, and any sensitive information, before sharing it.

Export resolution and frame rate do not add detail or motion the source never captured. Multi-ratio export writes files; it does not publish them to social networks.

Try the premium workflow

A 5-hour trial of premium editing.

Try premium editing features for 5 hours. Trial exports include VIDO attribution. AI Intro Beta requires paid Pro. This is not a claim about recording length; the trial timing model has not been confirmed for the published installer.

An optional extra

AI Intro Beta is separate.

Paid Pro includes access to the AI Intro Beta feature with a configured API key and network connection. It is not required to record, edit, or export. Third-party API usage and fees are not promised as part of the license.
